JLL has been selected to be the Exclusive Marketing and Leasing Agent for the IMG Airlines Building in Ho Chi Minh City

IMG and JLL signed an agreement, appointing JLL to exclusively provide marketing and leasing services for the IMG Airlines Building. With a total of 30,000 sqm GFA and 12 floors, the project is the latest grade B office building in Go Vap District, which will drastically reshape the business landscape of Go Vap District in the coming year. The project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2018.

Singapore’s Keppel Land acquires majority stake in Saigon Centre

Singapore-based Keppel Land, through its subsidiary Krystal Investment Pte Ltd, has spent around USD 37.1 million to acquire an additional 16% stake in Keppel Land WATCO I to V. Following the acquisition, the company has increased its aggregate interest in Keppel Land WATCO I, II and III from approximately 45.3% to 53.5%, and its aggregate interest in Keppel Land WATCO IV and V from 68 to 76.2%.

Saigon to Get New Mien Dong Bus Station by Year End

The Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation (SAMCO) has just announced construction of the new municipal bus station will begin in the second quarter of 2017 and expected to complete by the end of the year. The new Western Bus Station project, or Mien Tay Bus Station will be linked with the first metro line, connects District 9’s Suoi Tien Theme Park with Ben Thanh Market in District 1.

Saigon unveils much-awaited plan for downtown street food zones

HCMC has planned to create spaces for street food. The authorities aim to turn District 1 into a "Little Singapore", including Nguyen Van Chiem Street behind the Notre Dame Cathedral, Bach Tung Diep Park near the Reunification Palace and Chu Manh Trinh street. The district will not charge any fees and will provide training on food safety and recycling. However, vendors can only open their stands for limited hours to ensure traffic safety.

Mapletree opens its first office development in Vietnam

Mapletree, the Singapore a leading real estate development, investment and capital management company has recently opened the Mapletree Business Centre. The development is a 17-storey office tower with 28,384 sqm of GFA and is designed to international Grade A specifications.

Isuzu Vietnam starts construction of after-sale service centre in Ho Chi Minh City

Japanese automaker Isuzu has picked Tan Phu Trung industrial zone in Cu Chi district of HCMC as the location for its after-sale service centre. The 1-hectare centre has started to construct in March 2017. This project is expected to be completed in September this year, providing repair and warranty services for customers.

Saigon Unveils Plan to Turn Downtown D1 Into Pedestrian Zone Amid Sidewalk Clearance Efforts

The HCMC Office of Traffic and Transportation has ordered a few relevant government agencies to come up with a full project proposal. The walking zone project is to establish a designated pedestrian zone in the heart of Saigon, spanning 221ha with a perimeter of 7.3km, including Le Duan, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Pasteur, Hai Ba Trung and Mac Dinh Chi street. Municipal authorities are expecting to complete the proposal this week for submission to the city People’s Committee before April 30.

HCMC to open two new bus lanes in April

HCMC Public Passenger Transport Management Center has proposed the Department of Transport to pilot two bus priority lanes in Dien Bien Phu and Vo Thi Sau streets from April. According to the proposal, bus lane will start from Ly Thai To roundabout to Sai Gon Bridge in Dien Bien Phu street and from Dinh Tien Hoang street to Dan Chu roundabout in Vo Thi Sau street. The center suggested three measures to implement the pilot project. Particularly, one of the solutions will use an auto lane for buses only, however, the city is now considering all measures.
