Our people

Ralph Davidson is Director with Project and Development Services. He is Lead Project Manager for multiple projects and accounts. This role involves client relationship management with key international clients; project team leadership, providing supervision and support to team members ensuring staff development through project experience, training and mentoring.

His skills & expertise include Cost Management, Construction, Feasibility studies, Value Engineering, Project Management, Contract Management, Procurement, Building Surveying, Design Management, Commercial Real Estate, Real Estate, Project Delivery, Project Control, Fitout, Project Planning, with specialties in Strategic Implementation and development of Project Strategies, Building Pathology and Maintenance, Procurement Best Practice, Stakeholder Management.

With this wide skill set Ralph’s strong technical focus helps ensure our clients key goals, objectives, quality & performance requirements of their facilities are achieved.  Ralph specializes in complex infrastructure projects including Data Centre’s and Building / Business resilience and recovery infrastructure.

​Experience

Ralph has over 13 years' experience within the construction industry, with a strong technical background developed having originally worked as a building surveyor before progressing and developing an expertise in Project Management delivery.

Before joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Ralph worked with another global consulting firm providing Project Management Delivery initially based out of the Edinburgh office before transferring to Singapore in January 2009. Prior to that, Ralph worked as a Building Surveyor working within the UK providing an integrated Building Surveying and Project Management services for various blue chip clients.

Having worked on a number of diverse projects and clients across a variety of sectors including Corporate Real Estate, Commercial Developments, Education and Industrial sectors. Including Government, Financial and Media Clients and Developers.

Commercial & Developer Projects:

  • LRES CX-2-1 The Sandcrawler: 23,000Sqm Office Building with Signature Architect Design, including Anchor Tenant Fit-out for Animation Company. Lead Project Manager & Client Representative.
  • HSBC: Singapore Portfolio Workplace Strategy & Portfolio Reconsolidation Strategy Development.  Project Lead.
  • HSBC: Mapletree Business City Fit-out, 200,000Sqft office fit-out.  Lead Project Manager & Account Manager.
  • HSBC: HSBC HQ Building Refurbishment & Re-stack: Complete Refurbishment, re-stack & upgrade of building infrastructure while maintaining a live operational facility, achieved with zero downtime.  Lead Project Manager & Account Manager.
  • Autodesk Singapore Solaris Project:  55,000Sqft office fit-out project developed utilizing 3D design and BIM process.  Lead Project Manager.
  • Microsoft Edinburgh Waverly Gate:  Fit-out for new office and collaboration centre, providing test pilot for new technologies, including display and showcase spaces.  Lead Project Manager.

Data Centre's:

  • Lucas Real Estate Holdings (Singapore) – 120+ rack data centre with full N+1 infrastructure operating on a drawn air hot isle containment design principle. 2N static UPS system, Novec Gas Suppression supplemented with pre-action sprinklers and integrated in-rack cooling systems for high density racks providing support for an average of 15KW per rack & 35+KW per rack for high density racks.
  • HSBC – HSBC Building Data Centre Live Expansion.  Lead project manager for the live upgrade of a banking and trading floor data centre, including upgrade to full 2N building infrastructure, CRAC, UPS & Gas Suppression System replacement and upgrade.  Completed with live cash machine & trading servers operating with zero down time or failures.  Upgrade from 45 to 80+ racks.
  • HSBC – Mapletree Business City; Construction of a new data centre to facilitate new office and provide duality back-up to HSBC Singapore main data centre for all transactions & trading.  Total of 60+ Racks.

Educational Sector Projects:

  • Ministry of Education Singapore:  Project overview and guidance to delivery team for a variety of Project Management commissions including new primary schools and language centres.
  • Argyll & Bute Council: Heritage Academy PPP Project.  New Build School procured via PPP procurement route.  1800 Student Facility, project value (GBP 40M).  Lead Project Manager / Project Monitor.
  • Scottish Executive: Jordanhill School Redevelopment, Campus redevelopment including new teaching block, all weather sports pitches and new refectory wing.  Design & Build Procurement.  Lead Project Manager.
  • The Edinburgh Academy: Portfolio of projects including, new nursery teaching block, all weather sport pitches, conversion of Grade A listed building to Drama & Arts facility with auditorium and feasibility study & strategy for future development. Lead Project Manager.

Industrial Projects:

  • PM Delivery and Project Monitoring on Industrial projects ranging from Large Span warehouse and storage space; clean room & processing spaces. Size range from 5,000 sqft to 100,000+ sqft including high load floor slabs; anti-static flooring and clean air ACMV systems.
  • NCR Dundee Facility, The refurbishment and maintenance of existing manufacturing & distribution facility, total of 130,000 sqft over three units & yard.  Project included clean room space with antistatic slab & controlled ACMV system.  
  • Expert Witness services to MCST in relation to repair and refurbishment contract dispute (Building Surveying Services).
  • Various contracts work audits and monitoring for selection of local and international clients (Building Surveying Services).

Education and affiliations

Ralph received BSc Hons. in Building Surveying from Glasgow Caledonian University. He is a member with Association of Project Managers (MAPM) and with Royal Association of Chartered Surveyors, also member with British Chamber of Commerce Singapore, Young Professionals Committee. He is a CSCS Qualified.
