Vietnam’s economy to brighten up: Vietnam’s GDP recorded a 5.93% y-o-y increase in the first nine months of 2016, lower than the same growth of 6.53% in the same period of 2015. Despite the slow growth in the agriculture sector, which was due to recent climate changes, other sectors have seen strong growths during the period. The production and manufacturing sectors witnessed double-digit growths in 3Q16 thanks to the increase in foreign investments, while the service sector is positively boosted by the rise in retail activities banking services. Nevertheless, the 6.7% GDP growth target for 2016 still remains a challenge for the economy.
